Flower Essences

-Dr. Edward Bach-
" The relationship between people and healing plants is an example of Gaia, the Goddess of the earth, in action. When herbal medicines are used, the ecological cycles for healing are activated. The door is opened to the possibility of a miracle of healing way beyond the removal of dis-ease. There can be a direct experience of ecological flow and integration, a feeling of belonging, in the deepest sense, and of knowing that one is home, healed and whole. Such healing goes beyond the treatment of pathologies and the alleviation of bodily suffering that herbal remedies do so well. Rather, it is in the realm of the transcendent, it is the touch of the luminous, the transformation that comes about through Divine Touch."
-Excerpt: Flower Power by Anne McIntyre-
"Though storms may break, the Primrose on its stalk, Though frosts may blight the freshness of its bloom, Yet Springs awakening breath will woo the earth To feed with kindliest dews its favorite flower That blooms in mossy banks and darksome glens, Lighting the greenwood with its sunny smile; Fear not then, Spirit, Deaths disrobing hand."
-Percy Bysshe Shelley-

A Flower Essence is the essential healing energy of a flower, the distinctive dynamic inner life force that differentiates it from other flowers. As we capture the juices and oils from the leaves, stems, and roots of plants to make herbal medicines for the body, so we can utilize the more subtle energy of the bloom for mental, emotional and spiritual healing. A plants bloom contains the generative energy needed for its reproduction. Moreover, when a plant is in flower this energy is expressed in its color and infinite variety of wonderful shapes. It is at the peak of its beauty.
Each flower has its own special effect, depending on the character of the plant. A Flower Essence may calm you, energize you, make you more tolerant, or help you to be more assertive. Flower Essence Therapy is natural healing. Many of us are cut off from nature. However, when we decide to take a flower essence rather than a painkiller, we give ourselves a natural dose of the beauty of the plant world. This influences the quality of our thoughts, which can then filter down into the body to heal us. There are many Flower Essence formulas on the market-locally, nationally and worldwide, and we need only a little knowledge for them to be used with great effect. Please visit our Flower Essence Section of our store for SunInMoonØs unique formulas.
Animals as well as humans can benefit from Flower Essences. Administer the Essences in the same dosages as you would for humans. Plants also thrive on Essences.
How To Choose A Flower Essence
Flower Essences have a ride range of applications. Take several drops directly under your tongue or in a glass of water or juice and sip throughout the day. (I always set a little bottle of Bach Impatiens by his computer for sipping- cuz I Love him). Add the Essences to bathwater, creams or lotions and apply topically, or spray them around the home or where you work. The Essences are most effective when used frequently in small amounts. In times of crisis or transition, use them up to several times an hour. Individual remedies may be blended together. However, for clarity of focus, work with one or two key issues at a time. To enhance their positive effects, affirm the qualities you choose to encourage in your life. Be Gentle with Yourself and Others.

Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936), was the first modern holistic healer to teach about the spiritual and emotional healing power of plants. He was strongly influenced by Samuel Hahnemann and Paracelsus. He was also affected by the esoteric studies of his time. He initially studied medicine and homeopathy but in 1928 began creating Flower Essences. He moved from London to Wales where he discovered the method and preparation of flowers and spring water known as the "38 Bach Flower Remedies."
